A naturally occurring substance derived from the Mitragyna Speciosa tree, native to Southeast Asia, whose leaves are known to cause both stimulant and sedative effects, depending on dosage and body chemistry. Used by practitioners of traditional Asian medicine for centuries, it’s leaves are typically ingested either by chewing, drinking as a tea, taking as capsules in powdered form, or drinking as ground matter or a concentrated extract added to a beverage of choice. It’s principal psychotropic components are Mitragynlne and 7-hydroxymitragynine, both known to activate certain opioid receptors in the brain.
It has been reportedly used effectively for pain relief, mood-lifting, anti-anxiety, energy promotion, cognition enhancement, and opiate withdrawal relief, among many other claimed uses.
